Georgia Law Against Texting While Driving

On July 1, 2010 texting while driving will become illegal in Georgia.  If pulled over, you face a $150 fine and one point on your driver's license.  More importantly for those suspected of DUI, it is one more reason for the police to pull someone over.  After being pulled over, if the police suspect that someone is DUI, they can request Field Sobriety Tests and they can request a Blood, Breath, or Urine Test.  So, the new texting law can lead to more people being arrested for DUI.
