Atlanta Municipal Court Arraignment

After you have been arrested for DUI by a City of Atlanta Police Officer, you will have an arraignment in Atlanta Municipal Court. The arraignment will generally be set 2-4 weeks after the arrest. If you do not bond out immediately, it may be set for the next available business day. if you bond out late, the court date will be the next business date.

At arraignment your Atlanta DUI Lawyer will file motions in order to request the evidence and any video recording of the incident. The Atlanta DUI Task Force has video of all DUI arrests. If the arresting officer is not on the task force, they are unlikely to have video.

It is important to hire an Atlanta DUI Attorney prior to your arraignment and within 10 business days of your arrest for DUI in the City of Atlanta. DUI Lawyers are trained to protect your rights, defend your case, and to save your drivers license.

Your right to drive is protected when attorneys send a 10 Day Letter for their clients. The best Atlanta DUI Lawyers know that they only have 10 business Days to protect their client's rights. When your Atlanta DUI Lawyer files for an ALS Hearing, he will be able to fight to restore your drivers license.

If you have refused to take the State's breath test, blood test, or urine test, you will be facing a one year suspension of your drivers license unless your attorney requests an Administrative License Hearing. At that hearing your lawyer can fight for your right to drive or reach a settlement with the arresting officer that will allow you to maintain your ability to drive.
