Roswell Mom Arrested for DUI, Child Endangerment

A 34 year old Roswell woman is facing DUI child endangerment charges after crashing her motor vehicle earlier this week. Her young son was in the backseat. Roswell police officer Lisa Holland stated that Ms. Ashley Shields was reportedly driving wildly down Old Alabama Rd. Witnesses reported that Shields' Toyota 4 Runner was driving well over the speed limit and passed a vehicle over double yellow lines when she lost control of her vehcile and collided with two vehicles head on.
Following the wreck, Shields and her 18 month old son were transported to North Fulton hospital. According to reports, Ms. Shields had the odor of alcohol coming from her person. At the hospital, Shields was very uncooperative according to reports. She allegedly admitted to having consumed 4 one shot bottles of vodka in addition to taking her prescribed medications. Ms. Shields was arrested for DUI and her
blood was drawn to see if it was positive for alcohol. The results of that test are not known at the time of this writing. At the hospital, Ms. Shields was yelling and screaming according to the police report. She ignored Roswell police's request that she quiet down. After she and her son were treated and discharged, she resisted handcuffs and fough Roswell police, allgedly kicking and cursing at the officers as they attempted to place her in the patrol car. She was taken to the Roswell Detention Center were she posted a $ 16,500 bond and was released. Family and Child Services were notified regarding her young son.
Ms. Shields is facing charges in Roswell, GA for
DUI - child endangerment, reckless driving, passing in a no passing zone, obstruction of a police officer and disorderly conduct.
