DUI Penalties in Pickens County

One of the most common questions we hear is what kind of penalty you will be facing. Unfortunately, it is challenging to predict exactly what kind of punishment you will face. Many factors go into a prosecutor and judge's decision, including the specifics of your situation, prior driving record, your attitude during the arrest, your BAC, prior criminal record, and more. There is a wide range of possibilities, and while it is difficult to predict,  Pickens County DUI Attorneys can give you our estimates based on decades of experience.

Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is no small infraction in Georgia. A first conviction will result in a substantial fine, possible license suspension, and a jail sentence. The first conviction is considered a misdemeanor. The maximum penalty is a $1,000 fine and up to one year in jail. Additional consequences include community service, completion of a drug and alcohol program, and attendance of a MADD victim panel.  Greater penalties will apply if an accident was involved or other serious injuries to another person.
